Seven miles northeast of Austin, Daffan is located close to the U.S. In the 1930s and 1940s, the Texas and New Orleans Railroad stopped at the eastern end of Highway 290 in Travis County. From the 1930s to the 1960s, the population of the community was listed as twenty. Daffan was shown on the county highway map from 1985, but there were no structures there.
